Top down and bottom up approach in love

Wikipedia says: A top-down approach is essentially the breaking down of a system to gain insight into its compositional sub-systems. and A bottom-up approach is the piecing together of systems to give rise to grander systems, thus making the original systems sub-systems of the emergent system.

...both of these approaches makes sense. both of them are good.. both have pros and cons, successes and failures.

Same is true for love.. some relationships start with physical attraction and reach the level of selfless love, desirelessness and pure form.
some start from other end and reaches another...
some start from one end and never reaches another... some never progresses and always stay at same level...
like everything else... ideal maybe the third way ! a mix of both.. many possible combinations !
