Relations are a function of mutual emotional intimacy. It is something that we cannot mimic. Some relationships dry up once affection and compassion are lost even from only one side. because It's mutually interdependent… very few are those who carry relations just for the sake of it; even after another side is dried up. To me, I put two steps forward if a person is putting one… but I also pull two steps backward if I feel that counterpart is just somehow trying to keep relation alive! I cannot keep up with people trying to mimic emotional intimacy because they can't.
