Irony

While reading, I again came through an interesting statement by Nuclear physicist Rutherford, one of those famous names that we studied in high school Physics books -

'All science is either physics or stamp collecting'.


I do not find this arrogant; anyone who has ever loved anything passionately can understand why would someone say something like this. but we should not say such things because others similarly love their fields and there is more to science than just physics (except social science is not science and is indeed stamp collecting, I shouldn't say this, but I do :P)


... later, a great physicist he was, he was awarded Nobel price in 1908, but here is the fun part - not in Physics but in Chemistry or as he would have said few years earlier, in Stamp Collecting 😄
